As part of the fashion photography module I study at college, we had to undertake a project where we were to style and photograph our own beauty shoot.

I wanted to take a classic black and white image with a vintage look about it, taking inspiration from images of Lana del Rey and Twiggy .

Now by no means have I any talent with a camera but it was quite fun I must say! With thanks to my lovely crew the photos turned out in my opinion quite well…kind of like the Lana del Rey images. I know I’ve questioned her over her live performances but you can’t deny she is beautiful…I love her style!

Anyway without further adieu, my attempts at photography…

Thanks to my wonderful crew of ladies…

OH hello hello!

I’m back… again! And will try my very best to keep the blogging up to date… I really don’t know how some people do it but here we are!

As we are well on our way into the season of Spring and with the sun shining from my window, for the first time in what seems like an age. I thought I would start back with one of my favourite things about Spring/Summer 2012 trends…PRINTS!

Digital print is big for this season with designers such as Erdem, Jonathan Saunders, Preen, Carolina Herrera, Versace and Mary Katrantzou all jumping on the wagon. Embellishment was another way Matthew Williamson, Giles and Julien Mac Donald portrayed their prints.

Floral print which is a trend that has been seen in Spring/Summer shows of previous years is back and as playful as ever. I cannot get enough of Erdem’s florals!!

Aren’t they FAB!?

GLOSSYBOX – The September Issue

I first heard about GLOSSYBOX when reading a post about it on Thunder + Threads.

I like the idea of trying miniatures of products before spending a fortune on the actual size, so I went to the website to explore GLOSSYBOX a bit more and was I impressed. For just 12 pounds every month, GLOSSYBOX sends you a mix of 5 different product miniatures for you to test at home.

And if you review the products, you’ve tested, on their website you receive Glossydots which is a kind of points system. When you reach 1000 Glossydots your next GLOSSYBOX is free!

I received my GLOSSYBOX for September today and really, they don’t disappoint! The packaging is so adorable. It would actually be perfect as a gift or birthday present for someone who really loves beauty products I think.

The packaging…

The miniatures I received….

L-R: Dead Sea Spa Magik Salt Brushing exfoliator,

Móa The Green Balm and

Plum eau de parfum by Mary Greenwell

HD Brows Eye&Brow Palette

Unfortunately one of the shadows in my HD brow palette was broken when I received the package this morning but with a quick clean up I was able the salvage what was left!

I’m so excited to try these products now and will definitely be ordering my next GLOSSYBOX for October!

I have to apologise. I’ve been in total hiatus for oooh let’s say the past month, but now I’m back and looking forward to getting this show on the road! From now on I’m going to try post as regularly and often as I can.

It’s been a tad hectic the past month. I finished up my internship with BLINK, probably the most fun internship I’ve done to date. The girl’s there are the loveliest bunch to work with. Getting the chance to work on events such as the Dublin Fashion Festival and meeting the likes of Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney was a pretty great experience too.

To the present I am studying Fashion Industry Practice  and so far, I LOVE it! My course tutor, Jan Brierton, is a working stylist herself and has so much knowledge and experience within the industry.

On Tuesday, Rebecca Morgan from Morgan the Agency came to speak to us about booking models and photographers for photoshoots. It was a really interesting talk and I’ll definitely be giving her a call when it comes to building my portfolio. Next week, the amazing Irish designer Peter O’Brien is also coming in to give us a talk which I’m really looking forward to and will keep you posted on.

I AM NOW AN INTERN LADY… with a personal shopper

A couple of weeks ago I decided to book in with a Personal Shopper in Topshop, Grafton Street, Dublin. Can I just say the experience was actually brilliant!

First of all it’s free and there’s no pressure to buy anything. Also you get your own private changing room away from the rest of them with drinks and cakes…AMAZING!! Julianne, the personal shopper was great. She was picking out clothes I probably wouldn’t have found had I been shopping myself. It was so good the overall experience and I will definitely be going back again…once I get myself some money !!

Okay back to the present…

Ooooh I am too excited today. I’ve landed an amazing PR internship with BLINK in Dublin. And talk about perfect timing I’ll be working on the Dublin Fashion Festival!! Ahhh!

More info on the festival here:

I love how fashion bloggers show you clothes they’ve bought so i thought I’d hop on the bandwagon as I simply can’t keep these gems to myself! By the way apologies for the ridiculous photos, currently I have no camera…sad times!

The first of my purchases I set eyes on in Topshop, you’ll soon learn that I basically live in that shop!

The cutest little bag I’ve seen!! It was 38 euro which I’ll admit is very steep for a small bag but I just couldn’t resist!

My second purchase of the day was abeautiful chiffon button up shirt from New Look for 30 euro. It’s like a beige/dusty pink colour and has such a vintage look to it with it’s embroidered detail.

I would usually wear it buttoned all the way to the top which I feel makes it look neater at the collar and of course tucked into a high waisted skirt or a pair of shorts.
